<Inn Policies, The Bed and Breakfast Inn at La Jolla>

  • There is NO HOT TUB or POOL on the premises.
  • Check-In: 3:00-5:00PM. Special Late Check-In by REQUEST ONLY. If you are going to be later than 7PM, please notify the front desk ASAP for special late check-in instructions. Our front desk closes promptly at 7:50PM (Pacific Standard Time) every evening
  • Check-Out: 11:00AM. If we can we will accommodate a late check-out but at an additional hourly fee.
  • SPECIAL ASSISTANCE/ DIETARY NEEDS: Guests needing Special Assistance and / or Dietary Needs, please advice staff at the time the reservation is made.
  • We are inappropriate for children under 12 years of age, as our Inn is an adult designed environment. Children OVER the age of 12 are welcome.
  • Our rates are based on single / double occupancy only - Maximum of 2 persons/room- No exceptions.
  • Guests generating excessive noise or bothering other guests will be asked to leave the Inn immediately and held responsible for the entire amount of stay.
  • We are a Smoke Free Inn. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises, which includes not only the guest rooms but the grounds and the outside decks and patios. Guests smoking in rooms will be charged a minimum of $250 for cleaning and repair. The final charge will include all actual costs plus any lost income.
  • Candles and Incense burning are not allowed in guest rooms or on patios or decks for insurance and security reasons. Guests will be charged for damages or excessive cleaning caused by candle or incense burning. The final charge will include all actual costs plus any lost income. If violated guests will be asked to leave the Inn immediately without a refund.
  • Damages: Guests are responsible for excessive cleaning, damages to or breakage of the Inn's Property. Final Expenses will be based upon actual documented costs, plus any lost income.

  • FREE PARKING at the Inn is limited and designed to fit compact cars only- NO trucks, vans or SUVs. There is FREE on-street parking in front of the Inn with a 2 hour limit between 10:00AM and 4:00PM. Overnight and all day Sunday parking is FREE with unlimited time. There is also unlimited time parking on streets adjacent to the Inn. We will be happy to give you more parking information upon your arrival.

  • For Security reasons, the PHOTO ID and the Credit Card used to make the reservation are required at Check-In.
  • To secure your reservation, the reservation is charged in full to your Credit Card at the time you make the Reservation. You will receive written confirmation and a receipt.
  • Only ONE discount will apply to any one reservation and must be taken at the time the reservation is made.
  • We do NOT HOLD Reservations.
  • A Credit Card and relative information will be taken for every reservation and kept on file regardless of method of final payment or the use of a Gift Certificate or Charitable Donation Certificate, etc.

  • Gift Certificates, Charitable Donation Certificates, Coupons etc. MUST be Presented at Check-In to be redeemed.

  • Gift Certificates, Charitable Donation Certificates, etc. cannot be redeemed for cash, are non-transferable and discounts do not apply if using them to make a reservation.

  • Please indicate at the time you make the reservation if you will be using a Gift Certificate, Charitable Donation Certificate, Coupon, etc.

    - Weekends: A 2 Night Minimum (If reservation includes a Saturday Night)
    - Holidays, Special Local Events & Seasonal Times of Year : Require a Minimum Stay of 3 or more Nights.

General Cancellation Policies
This policy also applies to Gift Certificates and Charitable Donations Certificates as well.

  • As a small independently owned Inn, cancellations affect us dearly. WE UNDERSTAND that plans change at the last minute. We hope you understand that, as a small B&B with limited availability, we must enforce our cancellation policies.
  • You are responsible for the ENTIRE COST of your STAY. No refunds will be made for NO-SHOWS or EARLY DEPARTURES.
  • A $50 charge per room is assessed for all CANCELLATIONS and ANY CHANGES to the reservation, other than adding rooms or room nights, and will appear on your receipt as a Cancellation/ Processing fee .
  • We do NOT HOLD rooms.
  • Cancellations must be by FAX or EMAIL ONLY! We do not accept telephone cancellations.
  • Reducing the length of the stay, the number of rooms or the value of the original reservation constitutes as a cancellation and will be subject to the Cancellation Policy and the Minimum Stay Requirement will apply.
  • NON-REFUNDABLE:

    - Reservations made for stays in JUNE, JULY and AUGUST, HOLIDAYS or SPECIAL LOCAL EVENTS (and their Minimum Stay Requirements) are NON-REFUNDABLE.

    - Discounted Reservations are Non-Refundable as are Packages and Reservations made using Coupons, Value Cards or Gift Certificates

    - Cancellations due to Inclement Weather or Natural or Man-Made Disasters are NON- REFUNDABLE if we do not receive notice of cancellation by the required Cancellation dates outlined below or if the dates of your stay do not qualify.

  • OTHERWISE, TO RECEIVE a FULL REFUND, less the $50 Cancellation/ Processing Fee, you agree to give us NOTICE of Cancellation, by FAX OR EMAIL, by the Cancellation Deadlines outlined below. If you do not receive a cancellation confirmation email within 24 hours , please call to make sure we received your request.

CANCELLATION DEADLINES:

  • Any Discounted Reservation is Non-Refundable
  • 14 day cancellation notice is required for stays totaling 2 or less nights.
  • 30 day cancellation notice is required for stays totaling 3-4
  • 60 day cancellation notice is required for stays totaling 5-7
  • 90 day cancellation notice is required for stays totaling 8-10
  • 120 day cancellation notice is required for stays totaling 11-12
  • Extended Stays or Group Bookings exceeding 12 room nights are arranged through the Innkeeper/Manager and subject to a separate contract and conditions.
  • Cancellations due to inclement weather or natural or man made disasters are Non Refundable if notice of cancellation is RECEIVED LESS THAN the designated time frames indicated above , or if the dates of your stay do not qualify.
  • Group Reservations or Stays totaling MORE than 12 nights may be subject to a separate Contract Agreement between the Inn and the parties making the reservation.

  • Corporate and Business travelers only. Mid-week Only (Sunday through Thursday).

  • Run of the House- Select any one of our 11 guest rooms. Exceptions are the Gill Penthouse, Holiday Suite, Pacific View and Fiesta guest rooms which are available at a Discounted Rate but not at the Standard Corporate Rate. Mid-Week, Sunday through Thursday Only. Does not apply to Holidays, Special Events and weekends with their minimum stay requirements.
  • Guaranteed upgrades when available.
  • All amenities required should be specified at the time reservation is made.
  • Must have valid Cell Phone Number and Credit Card on file.
  • Check in time is 3-7PM. If later than 7PM call ASAP or before 7:30PM (PT) for late arrival instructions and so that arrangements can be made. Our front desk closes promptly at 7:50PM (PT).
  • Corporate guests are required to read ALL of the Inn's policies on this web page and agree to abide by them, (exception being our General Cancellation policy).
  • 72-hour cancellation policy. Full refund less $50 processing fee per room if cancellation is more than 72 hours prior to arrival. If less than 72 hours, the full amount of the stay is non-refundable. There is no refund for early departures and no shows.
  • Cancellations must be by FAX or EMAIL ONLY! We do not accept telephone cancellations.

  • Must Call 888-988-8481 for Reservations. Guest bringing pets cannot book online!

  • Dogs can be accommodated in the "Bird Rock Cottage" guest room ONLY. The pet is not allowed in any other guest room or interior public areas of the Inn out of respect for our guests and staff who suffer from allergies.

  • No more than one dog and a 50 Lbs. maximum weight limit.

  • No Cats out of consideration for our guests who may have allergies.

  • Refundable $200 Damage Deposit is required and an extra $50 per night lodging fee. If there is damage greater than $200.00 the guest agrees to pay, upon receipt, for the full amount of the actual damages incurred plus any lost income.

  • A waiver must be signed at check in that you will be responsible for reimbursement of all actual damages.

  • Pets must never be left unattended in the guest rooms or on the premises and are not allowed in the dinning room or the interior public areas of the Inn. We will provide a comfy area in the garden for your pets while you are enjoying your breakfast.

  • We provide Pet Sheets to protect the furniture. Plastic disposal bags must be disposed of in the trash containers in the park or other public disposal areas - not on the premises or in waste baskets on the B&B property whether in guest room or any public B&B receptacle.
  • Guest and their pets may be requested to leave if at any time the pet is out of control or causing a disturbance- If requested to leave the entire amount of stay will be non-refundable.
  • We can also make arrangements to board your pets in a wonderful nearby pet resort within walking distance to the B&B.
  • Specials and Discounts DO NOT apply and you must make arrangements for the pet at the time of booking.
